u know how pple always had their words spurting out of their mouth at an instant,

and then on second thoughts they felt that they shouldnt have just let it out like that.

given a situation where they felt guilty for saying such things which was obviously a wrong thing to say at that point of time,

so the next thing to do is obviously to cover up their mistakes

by saying they actually never ever meant whatever they said or it was just a joke kinda thing, when in actual fact, the first word/sentences that came out form one's mouth

be it accidental or not, are always the truth.
